About IFEES – International Federation of Engineering Education Societies
During the 5th Annual Global Colloquium on Engineering Education of the ASEE – American Society for Engineering Education in Rio de Janeiro the founding meeting of IFEES took place on the 9th of October 2006. Approximately 35 representatives from worldwide acting engineering education societies were invited. The president and the members of the executive committee were elected after an introduction round. Prof. Claudio Borri was elected president of IFEES for the period 2007/09. Prof. Norbert Kraker, the IGIP president, was elected to the executive committee and he is one of the vice-presidents of IFEES. This is an honour for IGIP and a confirmation of the importance of the engineering education, especially engineering pedagogy.The objectives of the IFEES are:

Global promotion of engineering education.

Enhancement of quality of engineering education by the worldwide co-operation of the members of international engineering education societies in all aspects, in particular:

curriculum development

IFEES aims to serve a global community engaged in engineering education providing a knowledge network and supporting cultural understanding and the acceptance of the differences.
